Christian Schwendy now board member of ELIA

Christian Schwendy, one of the two managing directors of the language service provider Gemino GmbH, has been serving on the board of the industry organisation ELIA (European Language Industry Association) since November 2010.

ELIA represents the interests of European language and translation companies. The non-profit organisation is committed to promoting interconnectedness within Europe, setting quality standards and sharing information. Not only is ELIA being shaped by Schwendy’s volunteer service to the board – Gemino has also actively contributed to ELIA’s functions through providing lectures and organisational support as well as technical support by maintaining and expanding the organisation’s web content. “ELIA offers great potential for our ever-changing industry,” comments Schwendy. “The organisation gives all European language service providers the opportunity to work toward common goals and to benefit from synergy effects across borders.”

With offices in Munich and Berlin, Gemino GmbH supports businesses in positioning their products and services in new markets. The company offers translations in more than 30 languages and works closely with over 300 experienced translation partners around the world. A team of 30 in-house employees provides consulting services to businesses from almost all sectors.
